Welcome to the homepage for the Do Once and Share Action Team for Diabetic Eye Disease.
NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CfH) is sponsoring a ten year National Programme for IT (NPfIT) to bring modern systems into the NHS to enhance patient care. The Knowledge, Process and Safety Directorate of NHS CfH is developing ways of getting knowledge where it is needed within the NHS. This will enable the successful integration of NHS CfH with clinical practice and clinical care.
The 'Do Once and Share' Programme is one initiative developed to support and inform the integration of NHS CfH. It comprises 44 specialties, including diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease, each with a corresponding Action Team.
The 'Do Once and Share' project for Diabetic Eye Disease commenced on 1 December 2005, and will run for 6 months. This page will be developed into a group resource to share information and knowledge, and to track the progress of the project.
It is anticipated that the online resource will be available from early January 2006. In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions, or if you would like to be involved, please contact the project manager, Christian Martin, at christian.martin@doas-ded.org.
